Talking about us in the first person is always difficult. And yet many guests who have stayed here at The Villa have previously asked us to do so. We realized that during their stay, in addition to the pleasure of being on holiday, there is always the desire and opportunity for an "encounter" between people, cultures, ways of thinking and capturing the various nuances of life.
This is why this book has been created: we have decided to talk about ourselves using the simplest and most direct method: through the secrets of our cooking. Rather than just a cookbook, it is a way of extending the hospitality that we hope everyone who has stayed with us has been able to enjoy. In Italy, having a meal together is not simply a convivial event: it is the closest way to savour traditions with your family, through the ritual of customs that have been passed down from generation to generation. Food can certainly communicate the authenticity of life and speak to your heart, rather than just to the palate.
